Description
Statue of Diana decorated with protomes of lions, griffins, horses, bulls, bees, and also sphinxes and flowers. On the chest there are four rows of breasts symbol of fertility, while the breastplate enclosed by a garland of helichrysum and acorns shows two winged female figures and the symbols of the constellations of the ram, bull, twins, cancer and Lion. Around the head there is a circular nimbus and the kalathos headdress, here in the shape of a tower or city walls. The bronze head, hands and feet are a nineteenth-century restoration.
