Facade of the so-called Judgment Tomb, Lefkadia, Greece
Description
The facade imitates a two storey building with pediment. The lower portion recalls a tetrastyle in antis temple; four Doric half-columns and an anta at either end support a Doric cornice with triglyphs and metopes followed by an Ionic frieze with stucco reliefs representing combat scenes. The spaces between the half-columns are occupied by four single human figures: the deceased, attended by Hermes, descends into Hades where he will be judged by Aiakos and Rhadamanthys.
